We have posted here a collection of pictures— photos that record history. History of the start of the work called Leyte Christian College, its first teachers—-Johnny Eastep, Jack Belo, Lawrence Belo, Charlie Sabado, Rolando Quevedo, Jonathan Lapitan— and of its first students. Photo of the road built to make easy access to the farm land—virgin territory—giving rise to a Christian college that has been everyone’s dream. Photos of the ground-breaking that starts the new LCC building. Photos of the first cottages. Of the chapel hour that is an occasion of rejoicing as everyone worships God and listens to His Word being preached. Photos that show how students have sweated it out at the final exam. And of the great leap of a young man named Jerusalem.
One day, everyone who has had a part in the work of Leyte Christian College will have something to reminisce, to remember each other by. Photos that one could show to friends, to their spouses, or children, or grandchildren. It is a way to look back—-with joy.
After all, a picture, as the Chinese would say, is worth a thousand words.
